HaDavar is a Hebrew term meaning
"the Word". With a threefold purpose of reaching, preaching,
and teaching, HaDavar strives to expand God's kingdom and equip
God's people. WHY CALL THE MINISTRY
"HADAVAR" ? In Hebrew, the definite article Ha means "the". Davar is a noun meaning, "Word, Message, Matter or Thing". It is a fitting word (no pun intended) because God is the ultimate subject and object of worship, who "sustains all [matter or] things by His powerful Word" (Hebrews 1:3). In ancient Judaism, the term "Word" was used sometimes to refer to God. For example, one of the old Aramaic translations of Scripture says, "In the beginning with wisdom, the Word of the Lord created and perfected the heavens and the earth" (Gen. 1:1 Targum Neofiti). In the Gospel of John, the book begins with the statement, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1 NIV). Thus "the Word" has a double meaning for us. He is both Source and Subject, Message and Messenger, Written Word and Living Word. HaDavar is both the Saviour we worship and the means by which we know Him. WHAT SERVICES ARE OFFERED ? Currently, the focus of this ministry is personal outreach, personal correspondence, church planting, and preaching and teaching in churches across the Mid-South area.
